How it works

From a new lead to a visible next step.

Each employee sees the work on their desk. Owners can see the whole office. Everyone can see what happened and what needs to happen next.

  1. 01

    Add the Lead

Put the business, a contact, and where the lead came from on one record.

  2. 02

    Assign a Primary Rep

One person owns the relationship. Everyone else can see that name.

  3. 03

    Schedule the Follow-Up

The next call, email, or visit gets a date, instead of living in memory.

  4. 04

    Communicate

Email, call, or meet from the customer record, not from a side inbox.

  5. 05

    Keep the History

What happened, and who actually did it, stays on that customer.

  6. 06

    Stay Ahead

The next action stays visible. An owner can see it without taking the desk.

The same path, more closely

What happens to one customer.

ABC Company below is an example, so the sequence is easy to follow. It is not a screenshot and not a real customer.

  1. 01

    A lead is added

The record starts with the business, how to reach them, and where they came from. Notes, tags, and status live here too — not in a private notebook.

Example. ABC Company is added after a referral.

  2. 02

A Primary Rep owns the relationship

One person is responsible for the customer. The name sits on the record so the rest of the team is not guessing.

Example. Beth is the Primary Rep. ABC Company is part of Beth’s work.

  3. 03

    A follow-up is scheduled

Calls, emails, and in-person visits can be scheduled with a due date and a priority. Due and overdue work stays visible. A follow-up can be completed, and the person who completed it is named.

Example. A call is set for Thursday at 2:00 to talk about the site visit.

  4. 04

    Someone emails, calls, or visits

The conversation starts from the customer. Customer email, incoming mail, and calling stay tied to that record.

Example. Grace calls ABC Company because Beth is with another customer.

  5. 05

    The activity is recorded

FollowDeck keeps who actually did the work. Helping does not silently change the Primary Rep.

Example. The call is recorded under Grace’s name. Beth remains the Primary Rep.

  6. 06

    Customer history stays together

Emails, calls, notes, meetings, and completed follow-ups line up on one timeline for that customer.

Example. The referral, Beth’s earlier note, and Grace’s call are all on ABC Company.

  7. 07

    The next action remains visible

When one step is done, the following step is already on the desk. Nobody has to reconstruct it from an inbox.

Example. The next follow-up — confirm Thursday’s arrival — stays on Beth’s desk.

  8. 08

The owner can see what happened and what comes next

Office Overview shows ownership, open follow-ups, and activity across the company. It is there for coordination, not for hovering over people.

Example. The owner can see Grace’s call and Thursday’s follow-up without moving ABC Company off Beth.
